Max Lebowicky

February 3, 1936 - January 14, 2025

We are deeply saddened to announce the passing of Max Lebowicky, age 88, on January 14, 2025, surrounded by loved ones, at the Grace Hospital in Winnipeg.

Max was born on February 3, 1936, in Fenwood, Saskatchewan, to Martha and Peter. He moved to The Pas in 1938 where he attended school and then began work with the Canadian National Railway. He met Eveline Nash in 1960 and they married in 1961. The family moved to Dauphin in 1976, and then to Winnipeg in 1977, where he continued to work for CN, later transferring to Kooistra Trucking until his retirement.

Max is survived by his wife Eveline of 63 years, children, Craig, Brian and Tanis (Mike), grandchildren, Hayden, Kendra and Sara, sister-in law Muriel Lowe, brother-in-law Richard Nash (Betty), and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by his mother Martha, father Peter, sister Mary, nephew Gary, mother-in-law Nellie Nash, father-in-law Harold Nash, and brothers-in-law, Harry Pfeifer, Roland Nash, and Dave Lowe.

Retirement years were spent with family, travelling with his wife Eveline, volunteering, wood working projects, and golfing.

The family would like to extend their sincere thanks to all the staff at Grace Hospital that cared for Max during his brief stay.

Celebration of Life to be held on Sunday, January 26, 2025, at 2:00 p.m., at St. Mary's Road United Church, 613 St. Mary's Road. Reception to follow.
