Hubert John Murphy

September 8, 1937 - September 20, 2022

It is with heavy hearts we announce the passing of Hubert John Murphy on Tuesday Sept 20th, 2022, in Winnipeg, Mb at the age of 85 years. Born in Whitbourne, N.L.  

He has played many roles as a civilian cook with the navy, boxer, and a long-time caretaker. He was a great, generous man with a quiet demeanor, always there to reach out a helping hand whether it be to family or strangers and could wheel and deal bargains with the best of them and always ready to stand his ground when needed. It is never easy to say goodbye and he will be dearly missed by all who knew him. 

He is survived by wife Darlene E Murphy (Edwards), Stepchildren Sheryl, Tom, and Ray (Nichole) Neufeld and his favorite buddy Crue (dog) who he loved sneaking treats to and let sleep on his bed. His Brothers, David (Lily) Murphy, Alfred (Betty) Murphy, and Reg Murphy. Sisters, Linda (John) Dobbin, and Madonna (Dave). Daughters, Cathy (Fabian), Yolanda (Keith), MacKayle (Colin). Sons, Michael (Jordan), Patrick (Michelle), Scott (Ann). 27 Grandkids, and 18 Great Grand kids (and one the way), ex-wife Maureen Murphy. 

Predeceased by Mother Nora Murphy, Father Alfred Murphy, Brother Tom and Sisters Josephine, Margaret, Joan. His ashes will be interred at a later date in N.L.
