In Loving Memory of Dennis Keith Holdsworth

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Dennis Keith Holdsworth, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend, who peacefully departed this world in on August 31, 2023. Dennis was born in Moose Jaw in 1939 and moved to Winnipeg in 1970, where he raised his family.

Dennis was predeceased by his beloved wife of 53 years, Donna, whose partnership was a source of strength and happiness throughout their shared adventures. The loss of his daughter Marla and grandson Carter left an indescribable void in his heart, reminding us all of the fragility of life.

He is survived by son Mark (Michelle), daughter Michelle (Gill), grandchildren Trent (Adara), Dana, and Dylan, sister Carol (Merv) of Calgary, and friend Carol Robinson of Arborg. As we reflect on Dennis's life, we are reminded that his presence lives on in the memories and lives of those he held dear.

Dennis was a man of many passions, chief among them his love for the great outdoors. An avid hunter, he felt most at home among the sprawling landscapes of nature, where he could test his skills and bask in the beauty of the world around him. His fishing escapades were legendary, and he could often be found casting his line into the clear waters across Manitoba and Northwest Ontario.  He was truly at peace in the wilderness and always looked forward to his next adventure.

Above all else, Dennis cherished the time he spent with his grandkids. Whether it was teaching them how to fish, sharing tales of his own childhood adventures, or simply being a steadfast presence in their lives, Dennis's love for his grandchildren knew no bounds.

Dennis's legacy will forever live on in the hearts of all those who had the privilege of knowing him. His unwavering love for nature and his family served as an inspiration to us all. As we mourn his passing, let us also celebrate the vibrant life he led and the indelible mark he left on our lives.

A private memorial service will be held among his family members after being laid to rest in the Arnes Cemetery alongside his wife and daughter. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to Ducks Unlimited Canada in Dennis's name, a cause that was close to his heart.

"Though his footsteps may no longer grace the earth,
his spirit will forever dance among the trees, ripple through the waters"
