William “Bill” Paley

May 7, 1950 - October 26, 2022

Bill Paley, age 72, passed away at home October 26,2022. He is survived by wife Brenda; daughter Nicole (Doug), their children Bobby, Callie, and Jacob; son Josh (Leanne) and daughter Gianna. Also survived by his brothers Wayne (Lois) and Don (Zina)

Predeceased by his parents William and Mary Paley.

Bill was born May 7, 1950 during the great Winnipeg flood. He graduated from Sisler High School and then Red River Community College. Bill worked for the University of Manitoba upon graduation until his retirement at both the Bannatyne and Fort Garry campus.

Bill was an avid hockey fan and actively played recreational hockey until his mid-fifties. His love for Mustangs and motorcycles was only surpassed by his love for “camp”. Even though not a swimmer, Bill would spend many hours on the water with his kids and grandchildren. Bill had a strong love and loyalty for his brothers, nieces, and nephews.

Never a more proud parent and grandfather, Bill lived for them. He cherished the memories from raising his children - watching their hockey, soccer, baseball, lacrosse, volleyball, basketball games, swimming lessons and much more. His children’s life achievements, such as university graduations, made his life complete.

Although Bill was strict with his children often saying “No” he became a “marshmallow“ with his grandchildren Bobby, Gianna, Callie, Jacob and fur grandson, Archie always having treats hidden for them all.

Bill always joked that he would like to be remembered as a “fine father and all around good guy” (WKRP Cincinnati), but for his family, he was so very much more!

As per Bill’s wishes there will be no service. If desired, donations may be made to a charity of choice.
