Edward (Ed) Grant Miller
September 7, 1948 - March 16, 2025
Edward Grant Miller, aged 76, of Winnipeg, Manitoba, went home to be with his Lord and Savior on March 16, 2025, after a long battle with cancer.
Ed was born in Souris, Manitoba on September 7, 1948 to Robert and Vada (Orr) Miller. He was a middle child in a family of 10 children. Ed grew up and was educated in Ninette and Killarney. Upon finishing his schooling, he worked as a general labourer and farmer. Later, he did highway trucking throughout Canada and the US. Ed moved to Alberta in the mid 70s and married Bev Dick. They had one child, WendyAnne.
Ed’s favourite hobby was fishing! He also loved to tell tall tales about everything. Most importantly, Ed had a big heart for others and was dedicated to loving and serving his community, his church, and the less fortunate.
Ed is predeceased by his granddaughter Kimberley Laur in 2002; parents, Robert and Vada (Orr) Miller; siblings Lois (Gerry) Will, Orton (Linda) Miller, and Sharon (Lyle) Shirton.
Ed is survived by his daughter WendyAnne Wiebe and husband Al; Grandchildren Jolene (great grandchildren Isaac, Sarah, Jacob); and James (Cadie) and great grandchildren Sophia and Leo. All reside in the Calgary area. He is also survived by his siblings; Anne, Maxine, Eva, Morley, Raymond (Leona), and Allan.
He will be dearly missed by his partner, Eleanor Morden and her family; Crystal (Kevin) Power whom Ed regarded as a step-daughter, and her sister Tayler Ann Morden; also his step-grandchildren Jordan, Christopher (Rianne), Dylan, and Gavin. He will also be greatly missed by his special friend and companion Marg McCammon.
