It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of our cherished father, Darrell Stanley Holmes, on November 25, 2024. Born on August 2, 1960, Darrell lived a life filled with passion, love, and an unshakable dedication to his family and craft.

Darrell leaves behind his sons, Chad and Chase, and the light of his life—his beloved grandchildren Brayson, Hudsyn, Hayze, and Isla whose laughter and joy he treasured deeply. A true artisan at heart, Darrell had a remarkable talent for woodworking, creating pieces that reflected his unparalleled craftsmanship and attention to detail.

In his downtime, Darrell could be found cheering enthusiastically for his favorite teams—the Winnipeg Jets, Blue Bombers, and Saskatchewan Roughriders—always keeping his mother, Eileen, in the loop during game breaks to share spirited commentary on the plays. His love for sports was rivaled only by his love for family.

Darrell’s memory will be lovingly carried on by his mother, Eileen; twin brother, Darrin; his sisters, Debra and Darlene; and a host of nieces, nephews, and extended family members. His quick wit, kind heart, and warm smile will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.

A celebration of Darrell’s life will take place at a later date, where family and friends can gather to honor and share the many memories that made him so special.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly asks that donations be made to CancerCare Manitoba in Darrell’s honor, a gesture that reflects his courage and spirit in the face of adversity.

Darrell’s legacy lives on in the hearts he touched and the beautiful works of art he created. May he rest in peace, surrounded by love.
